PATHUM THANI, March 4 (TNA) – About 250 Thai and foreign
shooters take part in a defensive pistol contest, IDPA Championship 2019, in
Pathum Thani province.
Phumpailin International Defensive Pistol Association or PPL
IDPA Championship 2019 has drawn contestants from several countries seven gun
divisions.
Head of organizing committee Suranee Seth-thananon said PPL
IDPA Championship had become the largest IDPA event in Thailand with
international participants from such countries as China, the Philippines and
the UK.
More women had notably participated in the competition as
the “art of defense” had been increasingly popular among females, she
said.
In organizing the competition, Thailand’s IDPA aimed at
promoting defensive use of firearm, helping people to protect themselves in
real-life situations and educating people how to use firearms safely and
legally, she said.(TNA)
