KRABI, Feb 22 (TNA) – About ten stray dogs were caught by local livestock officials at Ao Nang beach in Krabi province after a five-year-old Finnish boy was mauled by a pack of dogs on Wednesday.
Julachart Julaphet, a veterinarian at the senior professional level of the provincial livestock office led the team to catch stray dogs by using tranquilizers.
Ten dogs were caught today and have been in quarantine for rabies observation.
It is expected that about ten stray dogs are left at Ao Nang and neighbouring Nopparat Thara beaches and will be moved later.
It is believed that there are about 70 stray dogs, living in residential areas and abandoned land.
Many are left behind by construction workers.
The Finnish boy remains hospitalized after Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-ocha visited him at hospital yesterday during his trip to Krabi province. (TNA)
