KRABI, Feb 21 (TNA) – A five-year-old Finnish boy remains hospitalized after he was mauled by a pack of five stray dogs at Ao Nang beach in Krabi province yesterday.
His condition has improved and he is put under close medical surveillance. He may need 3-5 more days to recover, according to a doctor.
Krabi governor visited the boy at Krabi Nakharin International Hospital today and told his family that the province will provide full assistance to the boy.
The boy was admitted to hospital yesterday with more than 10 wounds. He got vaccinated and received treatment for the bite wounds at his neck, scratches all over his back, a 5-cm-long laceration wound in his right leg.
Sombat Boon-eat, Ao Nang village headman inspected the site, where they boy was attacked at the beach in front of a hotel.
More than 20 stray dogs were found at Ao Nang beach and Nopparat Thara beach. He asked agencies concerned to catch the dogs and remove them from tourist areas.
Stray dogs have attacked tourists many times and it could affect tourism there, he said. (TNA)
