BANGKOK, FEB 4 (TNA) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok jointly organized the Thai-Chinese Food and Culture Fair as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations and to further strengthen the strong relationship between Thailand and China.
This special Thai-Chinese cooking exchange demonstration will be held at top destinations for Chinese tourists including Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket.
Chefs from the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry and head chef of the Dynasty Restaurant at the Centara Grand at Central World were invited to stage cooking demonstrations, featuring food culture of the two countries.
The event will showcase that Thailand has a variety of Thai and international cuisine of high quality.
The TAT projected that there will be about 1.03 million tourist arrivals during the Chinese New Year from Feb 4-10 and the country will earn an income of 24 billion baht.
Of the total, 330,000 will be Chinese tourists, generating an income of 10.19 billion baht, up 12 per cent year-on-year. (TNA)
