NONTHABURI, Jan 25 (TNA) – The Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine will propose 16 formulas of marijuana-based medicines to the government for approval of its official production.
Dr Maroot Jirasetthasiri, director-general of the department, said the department shortlisted the 16 formulas from about 26,000 known formulas of medicines including marijuana content.
The 16 formulas had marijuana as their main ingredient and mainly treated insomnia, pain, skin disease and hemorrhoids.
The formulas would be proposed to the Food and Drug Administration and the government’s narcotic committee for approval and would be applied by doctors of Thai traditional medicine and applied Thai traditional medicine and folk doctors who had licenses, he said. (TNA)
