BANGKOK, Jan 2 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha announced ceremonies related to the coronation of His Majesty the King through TV Pool at noon.
He said the government was highly delighted with the Bureau of the Royal Household’s announcement that His Majesty the King set coronation-related ceremonies on May 4-6 and the government together with Thai people would organize the traditional ceremonies in honor of His Majesty the King.
According to the prime minister, the government has been preparing the ceremonies on its part since His Majesty the King accepted the invitation to ascend the throne in 2016. Given the announcement of the clear schedule, the government will set up committees to prepare the ceremonies and will keep the public informed of the preparation.
After the cabinet meeting, Gen Prayut said the government had been preparing the traditional ceremonies that would happen before, during and after the May 4-6 period.
“The government will form the organizing committee and committees for different tasks. Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam will be in charge. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will be invited to supervise them to ensure smooth organization,” the prime minister said. (TNA)
