CHONBURI, Nov 27 (TNA) – The 14,000 -TEU M.V. ONE COLUMBA vessel has become the largest ever container ship to call at Thailand’s Leam Chabang port.
The Ocean Network Express’s ONE COLUMBA called at Hutchison Ports Thailand’s Terminal D at Laem Chabang Port, Chon Buri province, on Monday handling over 2,000 containers.
Japanese Ambassador to Thailand Shiro Sadoshima along with port authority officials and Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) executives observed the arrival of ONE COLUMBA.
M.V. One Columba with a total length of 364 meters and a total gross tonnage of 145,647 tons is one of the largest container vessels
Anat Matchima, a senior manager of HPT, said the port was equipped with new remote-controlled quay cranes and remote-controlled rubber tyred gantry cranes to handling containers.
Laem Chabang Director Montri Rerkjamnian said the visit by ONE COLUMBA showed the port’s high capability and good infrastructure. (TNA)
