BANGKOK, Oct 11 (TNA) — Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha left Bangkok this morning to attend ASEAN Leader’s Gathering (ALG) to be held in Bali, Indonesia on October 11.
The inaugurated ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering (ALG) is an initiative of President Joko Widodo of Indonesia.
It is an informal meeting of ASEAN leaders with leaders of major international organizations, including the United Nations, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, under theme “Achieving SDGs and Overcoming Development Gap through Regional and Global Collaborative Actions”.
The aims are to drive economic growth toward prosperity and equity, to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to join forces in coping with development challenges.
The ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering will be held during the 2018 Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group hosted by Indonesia.
It is expected to be a stage for ASEAN leaders to demonstrate their leading role in mobilizing global financial and fiscal agendas to promote financial stability, economic development and integration, and to seek cooperation for the achievement of SDGs and reduction of development gap. (TNA)
