CHONBURI, Dec 27 (TNA) – Crypto millionaire Vitalik Buterin has donated 10 million baht to build a new home for “Moo Deng” and to support the wildlife adoption project at Khao Kheow Open Zoo.
Yesterday (Dec 26), the “Kha Moo and the Gang” Facebook page posted a photo of Mr. Narongwit Chodchoi, Director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, holding a sign stating that Vitalik Buterin, one of the most influential figures in the cryptocurrency world and co-founder of Ethereum, creator of the Ethereum (ETH) coin, has donated 10,000,000 baht to support the wildlife adoption project at Khao Kheow Open Zoo for the Moo Deng family.
The page also revealed, “After the last time he bought stir-fried basil for us, this time Vitalik Buterin donated 10,000,000 baht to the wildlife adoption project to build a new home for Moo Deng. See you at Moo Deng’s new home soon.”
Moo Deng is a baby pygmy hippopotamus born at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi on July 10, 2024. Her name means “bouncy pork” in Thai, reflecting her playful personality. As a pygmy hippo, she’s part of an endangered species. Moo Deng quickly became an internet sensation due to her adorable appearance, drawing many visitors to the zoo. -819 (TNA)
