CHIANGMAI, Dec 16 (TNA) – A unique beauty pageant has captivated crowds in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai, as hundreds of buffalo competed for the title.
The annual event, organized by Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, showcased the finest specimens of Thailand’s national animal.
Among the standout competitors was Chang Udon, a nine-year-old bull standing at an impressive 180 centimeters. Owned by Pol. Capt. Jirasak Kamwanate, Chang Udon has attracted an offer of 25 million baht from an Indonesian buyer.
“We are currently in negotiations,” he said, adding that he has also been selling the bull’s semen for 500 baht per dose.
The pageant featured buffalo of various sizes, breeds, and colors, each with its own unique characteristics. Another notable contender was Baibun, a grand champion bull from the northern province of Chiang Mai. Priced at 500 baht per dose of semen, Baibun has become a sought-after sire in the region.
The event also drew attention to smaller breeds, such as the albino dwarf buffalo named Khao Moei. These animals are often prized for their unique appearance and gentle nature. -819 (TNA)
