BANGKOK, Nov13 (TNA) – The planned collaborative efforts between Thai and Chinese police aimed at acquiring intelligence on Chinese criminal gangs and it does not involve Chinese police conducting patrol in Thailand to ensure the safety of Chinese tourists, said the Thai government spokesman.
Chai Watcharong, the Prime Minister’s Office spokesman, emphasized that the measures were intended to enhance the sense of security for Chinese tourists. He clarified that the collaboration was for sharing information and facilitating easier coordination for Thai law enforcement.
The intention is to enable Thai police to receive accurate and rapid information for their duties. Chinese authorities have shown willingness to cooperate fully, providing proactive information to prevent Chinese gangs from committing crimes against Chinese tourists in Thailand.
The Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson emphasized that the news suggesting Chinese police conducting patrols for safety reasons is inaccurate. (TNA)
