BANGKOK, July 19 (TNA) — Whips of the government, the opposition and the senate set 28 hours on July 25-26 for government policy debate.
Government chief whip Wirat Rattanaset revealed the timeframe, saying the debate would be from 9am to midnight.
Opposition MPs would have 13.5 hours while government MPs and senators would have 5 hours each. The period excludes the policy statement by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
“For the benefits of people, the debate should be relevant to the policies,” he said.
Time allocation for individual government MPs would be discussed on July 23, he said. He did not think any government MP should be assigned particularly to protect the government during the debate. Regulations were in place for parliamentary sessions, Mr Wirat said.
He expressed confidence that Prime Minister Prayut would be calm during the debate. (TNA)
