BANGKOK, Oct 2 (TNA) — Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon supports a space affairs bill for the sake of economic and social development, security, the environment and public interest.
Gen Prawit expressed his support while chairing a meeting of the National Space Policy Committee at Government House.
The committee drafted the space affairs bill that will create a central organization which will set policies and space affairs plans that will boost Thailand’s competitiveness in space-related industries and services. The committee also worked out policies and plans related to space traffic management.
Gen Prawit said that relevant organizations should join forces to support the space affairs of the country and ensure that they would be beneficial to digital, economic and social development as well as security, the environment and general people.
The deputy prime minister also said that Thailand’s position in the digital competitiveness ranking by the International Institute for Management Development moved up one spot to 39th among 63 rated countries.
The improved position showed the successful digital development of the country, he said. (TNA)
