BANGKOK, June 7 (TNA) – Bangkok was hit by torrential
rains Friday afternoon, causing traffic havoc and flooding in a wide area.
Over 100 millimeter of rainfall was recorded in the inner
part of the capital city at around 3 pm.
Low-lying areas were submerged in flood leading to heavy
traffic congestion as city workers struggled to drain flood water.
Bangkok city officials said there were 20 critical spots
across the city with knee-high flood water on traffic surface, such as Pathum
Wan and Huay Khwang.
Netizens have posted photos of vehicles submerged in floods
while warning of rush hour traffic havoc. (TNA)
