BANGKOK, June 5 (TNA) – Thailand has pressed forward
anti-human trafficking efforts as a national agenda, said Prime Minister Prayut
Chan-o-cha.
At the opening of Anti-Human Trafficking Day event on
Wednesday, Gen Prayut gave assurance that the fight against human trafficking
remained a national priority agenda, reiterating his administrations’ policy to
prevent and solve the problems.
Tangible measures had been implemented to tackle human
trafficking as well as other related issues from illegal migrants to illegal
fishery, he said at the event organized by the Ministry of Social Development
and Human Security.
Gen Prayut said his administration had continued to improve
laws and regulations with stringent enforcement as evident in lawsuits against
law offenders.
The premier also urged private businesses to join hands in
addressing the problems and embrace the rights of workers. (TNA)
