NONTHABURI, May 28 (TNA) – The Department of Intellectual Property joins hands with Lazada to tackle fake goods on the e-commerce website following reports of customer complaints.
Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) chief Tossapol Tungsubut said the department held talks with executives of Lazada Group, the leading e-commerce platform on the measures to tackle online counterfeit goods.
Online shoppers can file complaints via Lazada website or its application. Lazada has adopted Alibaba Group’s system to allow trademark or copyright owners to register in its IP Protection Portal (IPP) system, so they can alert Lazada about intellectual property infringement on its e-commerce platform.
The department will continue working closely with Lazada, local and foreign intellectual property owners to build network to crack down IP infringement on online shopping platform efficiently. (TNA)
