CHIANG RAI, April 4 (TNA) – Thailand’s central bank signs
agreements on payment systems and financial innovation with its counterparts of
ASEAN countries.
The agreement signings took place at the 23rd ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting in Chiang Rai on Thursday.
Among the agreements reached at the conference is the
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation in the Area of Payment Systems
and Financial Innovation between the Bank of Thailand (BOT) and the Bank
Indonesia (BI).
BOT Governor Veerathai Santiprabhob and BI Governor Perry
Warjiyo signed the agreement aiming to promote closer cooperation between the
two central banks in the areas of digital innovation in payment and financial
services, cross-border payments, and supervision of payment systems.
This collaboration will help advance financial development
and financial integration between the two countries, leading to sustainable
economic growth of Indonesia and Thailand going forward, a BOT statement says.
Similar agreements were also singed between Thailand and
ASEAN members.
Veerathai said these agreements would help advance bilateral
financial development and integration, leading to sustainable economic
