YALA, March 15 (TNA) – Four-year-old twins get married in
a traditional wedding in Yala province, southern Thailand, out of the
superstitious belief in the need to undo their bad karma.
Many Thais hold the ancient belief that opposite-sex twins
were lovers in the past life but prevented from being together. They are born as twins to pursue their
married life together.
The parents of Kothanon (Jeff) and Kotchamanat (Jeef) hosted
the wedding at their house in Yala’s Mueang district, attended by relatives and
guests from near and far.
Wallapa, the mother, said the twins had strong bonds since
their birth; they had been inseparable.
The wedding was meant to give them blessing, ward off bad
luck and fix their bad karma, she said.
She held the wedding ceremony with all details of Thai
customs including groom parade, religious rite and dowry offering.(TNA)
