BANGKOK, March 4 (TNA)
– Thai people line up to reserve commemorative medals and coins on the
occasion of the Royal Coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn in
May.
The Treasury Department accepts reservation for the new set
of commemorative medals and coins minted for the Coronation Ceremony for Monday
until April 4.
Three types of commemorative medals – platinum, black-coated
silver and black-coated bronze – are available for reservation at branches of
government-run Krung Thai Bank, Thailand Post offices and Counter Service desks
as well as online platforms.
The Department also offers gold coins of 19,000-baht
denomination which priced at 40,000 baht, silver coins of 1,000-baht
denomination priced at 3,000 baht and 20-baht cupronickel coins priced at 20
baht each.
After receiving reservation, the Department of Treasury will
begin deliveries on June 1.
Treasury Department Director-General Aumnuay Primonwong said
each person could only reserve one of each type of the coins except up to five
for cupronickel coin.
The platinum medal costs Bt1million, silver Bt5,000 and
bronze Bt3,000. (TNA)
