BANGKOK, Feb 28 (TNA) – A new set of commemorative medals
and coins minted for the Coronation Ceremony of His Majesty King Maha
Vajiralongkorn will be available for reservation next month, says Thailand’s
Treasury Department.
Finance Minister Apisak Tantiworawong on Thursday announced
that reservation for three types of commemorative medals – platinum,
black-coated silver and black-coated bronze – would be opened on March 4.
Reservations could be made at branches of government-run
Krung Thai Bank, Thailand Post offices and Counter Service desks, he said,
before deliveries would begin on June 1.
The platinum coin costs Bt1million, silver Bt5,000 and
bronze Bt3,000.
The Treasury Department also minted coins and medals to
commemorate the coronation including gold coins of 19,000-baht denomination
which priced at 40,000 baht, silver coins of 1,000-baht denomination priced at
3,000 baht and 20-baht cupronickel coins priced at 20 baht each, said Apisak.
Each person could only reserve one of each type of the coins
except up to five for cupronickel coin, Treasury Department Director-General
Aumnuay Primonwong said.(TNA)
