BANGKOK, Jan16 (TNA) – The artificial rain making operation yesterday has alleviated the level of tiny particles in the capital, said Puttipong Punnakanta, the government’s spokesman.
He said the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry reported that the artificial rainmaking operation yesterday brought rainfall to some Bangkok districts, Phaya Thai, Prawet, Huai Kwang and Bang Kapi and parts of surrounding provinces in Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani.
The ministry has confirmed that the rainfall is the result of the artificial rainmaking operation, which can be prove by scientific data. The fine dust levels before and after the mission showed significant reduction.
The prime minister ordered the rainmaking operation continues along with other mitigation measures until the situation returns to normal.
The Pollution Control Department reported the levels of tiny particulate matter (PM2.5) in Bangkok today remain unhealthy in 23 areas.
