AYUTTHAYA, DEC 24 (TNA) – Elephants in Santa Claus outfits
take a Christmas outing to put smiles on the faces of school students in
Thailand’s former capital of Ayutthaya.
Four full-grown male elephants from Wang Chang Ayutthaya Lae
Phaniat elephant camp made a jumbo visit to Jirasart Witthaya School in the old
capital on Monday.
Spreading Christmas cheer, the four elephants with their
mahouts handed out toys and snacks to about 2,000 delighted children.
The elephants also entertained the children with some moves
and obedience show.
Traditional “Khon” mask dancers also took part in the
Christmas festivity to promote the performing art, which combines musical,
vocal, literary, dance, ritual and handicraft elements, that has just been
listed as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of humanity.(TNA)
