CHIANG MAI, DEC 11 (TNA) – Tourists throng Doi Inthanon,
Thailand’s highest mountain, to enjoy cold weather.
The mercury at the peak dropped to 5 degree Celsius Tuesday
morning, creating the winter atmosphere to the delight of tourists.
Kiw Mae Pan scenic point at the mountaintop remains the most
favorable spot for sunrise viewing.
Wild Himalayan cherry blossoms, or Thai Sakura, have started
to bloom, creating the ideal winter scenic view. The pink blossoms are concentrated on the
hills near a plant conservation center.
The national park officials reported that the number of tourists
visiting Doi Inthonon peaked at 10,929 on Monday, which is a national holiday,
the highest of this winter season.(TNA)
