UDON THANI, Nov 30 (TNA) – A lot of job seekers gathered at a language and skill test center at Tukcom Landmark shopping center to apply for language and skill tests so that they may be exported as legal workers to factories in South Korea.
Inspecting the center, Labour Minister Adul Sangsingkeo said the jobseekers were undergoing a legal labour export process by the Employment Department which guaranteed secure income, legal protection, welfare and compensation.
The center is among four facilities that the department operates to test jobseekers who want to work in South Korea. The service started today.
Another facility in the Northeast is at Central Nakhon Ratchasima department store in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Two other centers are at Zeer Rangsit shopping center in Bangkok and the provincial hall of Lampang province in the North.
The facilities welcome healthy jobseekers aged 18-39 and do not require any specific education qualifications. Labour authorities expect 15,000 people are applying for jobs through the four centers.
Thailand exported 72,435 workers to South Korea including 5,520 this year. The majority work in the industrial sector, followed by cultivation, livestock development and construction. (TNA)
