BANGKOK, Nov 16 (TNA) — The so-call New Dem, a new generation members of the Democrat Party, propose friendly sports with counterparts from other political parties and some parties agree with the idea.
Young Democrat Parit Watcharasin from the New Dem group said the friendly sports day should happen before the general election next year to represent constructive competitions before the polls.
The sports activity would also support the idea that political parties from both government and opposition sides should be able to cooperate on individual topics in which they could share same stances.
He said Bhumjaithai and Action Coalition for Thailand parties agreed with the idea.
Khetrat Laothamatas, spokesman of the Action Coalition for Thailand Party, said the idea was good because new members of political parties were not involved in past political conflicts and the activity could help resolve past conflicts.
Pannika Wanit, spokesperson of the Future Forward Party, said her party would join the sports activity because it was a good idea and new members of political parties regularly met.
Siripong Angkasakulkiat of the Bhumjaithai Party said the sports day would reflect the possibility that political parties could overlook conflicts and observe rules like the rules of sports competition.
They had yet to set the date and kinds of sports. (TNA)
