BANGKOK, March 20 (TNA) – Key figures of political
parties are intensifying their campaigns in favour of their candidates and
parties for the general election on Sunday.
Kanchana Silpa-archa, leader of the Chartthaipattana Party,
campaigned for her candidate in Constituency 1 of Phetchaburi province. In
Phetchaburi municipality, she said her party had no problems with any party. It
was not a big party and so would have to wait for big parties to group after
the election.
She expected the Chartthaipattana Party to win 25-30 House
seats.
Kobsak Pootrakul, spokesman of the Palang Pracharath Party,
campaigned at the Pratu Chiang Mai morning market in Constituency 1 of Chiang Mai
province. He said the party was warmly welcomed in the North and the Northeast
and he believed it would win a House seat in Chiang Mai and at least 150 seats
nationwide.
At about 9pm on Tuesday, Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit,
leader of the Future Forward Party, campaigned in Mueang district of Surat
Thani province. About 4,000 people in the district and nearby areas attended
the event.
On the occasion, Thanathorn said he transferred his assets
worth 5 billion baht to a blind trust to set a precedent of transparency for
holders of political positions so that people could have confidence in
politicians.
Dismissing critics’ doubts on the move, he said that people
would judge him and a businessman should minimize his conflict of interest when
entering into politics.(TNA)
