BANGKOK, Nov 2 (TNA) – HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn has graciously granted an octagonal-shaped urn with five-tiered umbrellas to King Power duty-free empire’s late owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s royally- sponsored bathing rite.
King Power International, Thailand’s duty-free shopping giant revealed the schedule of Vichai’s royally –sponsored bathing rite and the funeral ceremonies, which will be held at Kawee Niramit pavilion at the Debsirindrawas Ratchaworawiharn Temple in Bangkok.
The bathing rite will be held at 5.30 pm on November 3, followed by the Abhidhamma Chanting Ceremony at 6.30pm The funeral chanting will be held nightly from November 4 until November 9.
Three nights of the chanting ceremonies will be royally sponsored.
A monk, in charge of the funeral service at the temple, said King Power will also use another three surrounding pavilions to serve about 360 guests and chairs have been reserved to facilitate the large number of attendees.
The host will also install 24 CCTV surveillance cameras around the funeral rites and increase security guards at each pavilion, which will be opened and closed at the fixed time. Security has been tightened at the site.
Those, who enter the venue for work have to attach their identity cards and media members are not allowed inside the pavilion.
Somdej Phrathirayanmuni, Abbot of Debsirin Temple left Bangkok to England at 9 am on Thursday to perform a religious ceremony and retrieve Vichai’s body.
His body will be transported on a private jet and is due to arrive at Don Mueang Airport in the afternoon on November 2 before being moved to the Debsirin Temple. (TNA)
