PATTANI, April 13 (TNA) – Sixty one Thai students in
Pattani province have completed the 14-day quarantine after
returning from Pakistan late last month as Thai authorities continue to enforce
strict quarantine measures to all Thai returnees.
State quarantine centres have been set up across the country
to put all returnees under surveillance to prevent further spread of the novel
coronavirus.
In Muslim-majority southern provinces of Thailand, most of
returnees are students studying in Muslim countries or pilgrims.
Five more returnees on Monday arrived at a public health
office in Nakhon Si Thammarat that has been turned into a Covid-19
quarantine centre.
In Pattani, 61 Muslim students were
discharged from a Prince of Songkhla University’s dormitory where they had been
in quarantine since returning from Pakistan on March 30.
None of them had been tested positive for the virus and were
allowed to go home on Monday.
Pattani has so far reported 77 coronavirus cases. (TNA)
