BANGKOK, Feb 17 (TNA) — The Transport Ministry is seriously screening visitors from Cambodia at three airports after passengers from Westerdam cruise ship who disembarked in Cambodia were found with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob said the measure was implemented at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang and Phuket airports that served 19, 7 and 1 flights a day respectively from Cambodia. The measure responded to the report that 21 Westerdam passengers were infected with COVID-19. Westerdam ship docked in the Cambodian coastal province of Sihanoukville on Feb 13.
Under the measure, planes from Cambodia would be parked at specific parking bays and their passengers would undergo body temperature checks. The measure has been implemented on air passengers from China.
Mr Saksayam said that 27 Westerdam passengers arrived on the TG585 flight from Phnom Penh and they were allowed to travel on to their destinations because they did not show any symptom of respiratory infection or fever. (TNA)
