BANGKOK, Dec 19 (TNA) – Twelve-year-old Wanraya “Milk” Wannapong,
the two-time FAI World Drone Racing Championship women’s title holder, meets a
minister who pledges support for the drone sports development.
Wanraya finished first in the women’s final of the 2019 FAI
World Drone Racing Championship in Ningbo, China, on December 14. She defeated her opponents to retain the
title; Korean Siyun Park, 15, and American Teng Ma, 34.
The young drone racer and her parents met with Minister of
Social Development and Human Security Chuti Krairiksh on Thursday. The Minister congratulated her for
successfully defending her title and presented her a cash reward.
Wanraya’s performance has impressed the drone racing world
with her exception skill to win her first FAI title at the age of 11.
Chuti encouraged Wanraya to keep up her good works and vowed
to coordinate for financial supports from public and private agencies.
When asked for her advice to other drone racers, Waranya
said to succeed in drone racing or other sports one needs to “keep practicing.”
He father, Arwut, who is also her personal coach said his
daughter would enter the competition to defend the title next year. (TNA)
