BANGKOK, Nov 12 (TNA) – Food experts from around the
world take part in the 2nd Food Innopolis International Symposium 2019 in
Thailand, aiming to promote food innovation.
Food Innopolis features science and technology zones in
support of Thailand’s policy to become a global food innovation hub and to
promote Thai food products in the world market.
The Symposium held from November 9-14 has drawn around 30
experts to exchange on food innovation under the theme “From Tradition to
Innovation – the Art and Science of Food.”
Innopolis director Akrawit Kanchana-opas said food industry
accounted for 8.4 percent of Thailand’s GDP, creating over 40 million
jobs. Food and agro-industry needed to
adapt to changing consumers’ behaviors and preferences in order to thrive, he
said.
Therefore, the Symposium served to promote food innovation
to meet the demand for quality food products, added Akrawit.
Several Food Innopolis sites have been set up in Thailand as
innovation hubs focused on food research and development (R&D). (TNA)
