BANGKOK, Oct 11 (TNA) – Eight government agencies join hands with the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Office to develop the EEC One-Stop Service (EEC-OSS) system for speeding up investment application processes, said Kanit Sangsubhan, secretary-general of the EEC Office.
Those agencies are the Department of Public Works and Town& Country Planning, the Department of Industrial Works, the Department of Health, the Department of Business Development, the Department of Lands, the Immigration Bureau and the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC).
Kanit said the one-stop service system would reduce paperwork and support information exchange among the state agencies in line with the E-Government policy to improve the government services by utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The EEC-OSS streamlines the process and eliminates redundancy in seeking similar licenses, so it can shorten the time for investors to set up their plants in the EEC from 150 days to 78 days.
The number of licenses, needed for business establishment is also cut down to 40 licenses from 60 licenses, required before the adoption of the new system. (TNA)
