BANGKOK, July 14 (TNA) – The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) expects the Chachoengsao-Kaeng Khoi double track project will have been finished by next month.
SRT acting governor Worawut Mala said that the 106-km section of the double track railway from Chachoengsao to Kaeng Khoi in Saraburi province was important for logistics development to facilitate goods transportation and to connect the eastern part of the country as well as the Eastern Economic Corridor with other parts of the country.
When it is completed, he said it will support logistic system through railway transportation between the eastern seaboard and the Laem Chabang deep-sea port and the northern and northeastern part of Thailand.
Railway transportation will cut costs and pollution.
The 10- billion- baht Chachoengsao- Kaeng Khoi dual track project is part of the government’s eight-year plan (2015-2022) to upgrade transport infrastructure across the country. (TNA)
