BANGKOK, Oct 10 (TNA) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha ordered development of the Thailand Digital Valley to be sped up, aiming to push the country into a digital hub in ASEAN to attract potential investors.
During his visit to the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) on Wednesday, Gen. Prayut directed policies to DEPA to push forward the establishment of the Thailand Digital Valley in Chonburi’s Sri Racha district.
The valley is part of the Digital Park Thailand to be a key digital infrastructure in the Eastern Economic Corridor.
The Thailand Digital Valley will be an incubation hub for local startups where they can use innovation and technology such as cloud computing, big data system, robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop products and services for commercial purpose.
The valley will be a center for R&D and training and also serve as a community for global tech firms.
The prime minister met representatives of local tech startups and listened to their problems.
They proposed that the government should promote fair competition and amend law that hinders their business growth. (TNA)
