NONTHABURI, Feb 3 (TNA) – Four policemen and two reporters tested positive for COVID-19 after their coverage of the death of actress Nida “Tangmo” Patcharaveerapong and about 10 other people were at risk and already quarantined.
The case of Tangmo attracted an army of reporters over the past six days. They packed the Muang Nonthaburi police station which handled the case. So far four policemen at the station including interrogators and two reporters have tested positive for COVID-19.
Officials concerned feared that there could be a cluster of the infections at the police station because witnesses and other people took turns to answer police’s questions about the case there every day. Lots of visitors made it difficult to control the disease at the station.
Meanwhile, rescue workers gathered at NBC Boat Club in Muang district of Nonthaburi to retrieve the propeller of the speedboat that Tangmo had boarded before her plunge last Thursday night. Police of the Nonthaburi station lost the propeller in the river near the club last night when they turned on the engine of the speedboat for reenactment but the propeller sank right away. Earlier police detached the propeller from the boat for examination.
The rescue workers dove in the river near the boat club and retrieved the propeller for police within about 15 minutes. It was a piece of evidence police handled for their investigation into the mysterious death of the actress. (TNA)
