BANGKOK, Oct 1 (TNA) – The government today transferred its additional 1,500-baht handout to recipients in the third phase of its Khon La Khrueng (half-half) co-payment scheme.
Kulaya Tantitemit, director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office and spokesperson of the Finance Ministry, said that as of Sept 28 there were 27 million handout recipients in the third phase of the cost-of-living subsidy program. Of them, 24.31 million exercised the right and altogether spent 67.46 billion baht.
Of the spending, the people who participated in the program paid 34.33 billion baht and the government paid 33.13 billion baht. About 10 million people fully claimed the first 1,500-baht handout.
On Oct 1, the Finance Ministry would transfer the second 1,500-baht handout in the third phase of the scheme to previously registered participants, Ms. Kulaya said.
Newly registered participants will receive a single 3,000-baht handout after Oct 1. Recipients can spend the sum within Dec 31.
People interested in the subsidy program can register for the right at www.คนละครึ่ง.com or via the g-Wallet on the Pao Tang app between 6am and 10pm every day until the number of recipients reaches 28 million. (TNA)
