BANGKOK, June 2 (TNA) – AstraZeneca announced it was ready to gradually deliver its Thailand-made vaccine doses to help the government control COVID-19.
The vaccine developer made the announcement after Siam Bioscience Co delivered the first lot of its vaccine as planned. Present at a delivery ceremony were ACM Satitpong Sukvimol, chairman of Siam Bioscience, and James Teague, president of AstraZeneca (Thailand).
The local vaccine production resulted from collaboration between AstraZeneca and Siam Bioscience, a leading biopharmaceuticals manufacturer in Thailand, and was aimed at providing Southeast Asian people with adequate and fair access to COVID-19 vaccinations.
AstraZeneca will hand the first lot of the locally made vaccine to the Public Health Ministry right away for quick inoculation and exports of the vaccine to other Southeast Asian nations will start in a few weeks. (TNA)
