MALAYSIA, Aug 7 (TNA) – Thailand’s acting defense minister, General Natthapol Nakpanich, and his delegation arrived in Malaysia today to attend an extraordinary meeting of the Thai-Cambodia General Border Committee (GBC), with a focus on core negotiation frameworks.
General Natthapol, who also serves as Deputy Defense Minister, and the GBC delegation landed at Subang Military Airport in Malaysia at 8:00 a.m. local time, one hour ahead of Bangkok time.
Later today, General Natthapol is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the current ASEAN chair and host of the meeting, before joining the extraordinary GBC meeting this afternoon.
The key focus of the negotiations is to prioritize the safety and well-being of the people of both nations. The discussions are to be conducted in accordance with Thai and international law, while upholding the national interests and dignity of both countries. -819 (TNA)
