BANGKOK, May 5 (TNA) – The Digital Economy and Society Ministry has a team monitor a social media group encouraging people to move to other countries after receiving complaints about offences against the royal institution and messages causing disunity.
Chaiwut Thanakhamanusorn, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, said the “Let’s Move Abroad” group on Facebook contained posts about life in other countries and educational tips with hidden political issues.
The ministry already had a working group monitor online offences and ordered it to find out if the social media group had any illegal content which would then face decisive legal action, he said.
The government would not block any posts that exchanged information about overseas education and careers but it was concerned about any improper information such as that on illegal immigration and overstaying which could have impacts on international relations, the minister said.
The social media group could be abused for job scams, Mr Chaiwut added. (TNA)
