SONGKHLA, August 17 (TNA) – Thai authorities have intensified law enforcement to prevent illegal entry along the Malaysian border as the neighbouring country is experiencing a significant surge in the number of coronavirus infections.
Security and disease control measures have been tightened in border areas in the Thai South including those in Songkhla.
Army troops and border patrol police have beefed up their operations to prevent the illegal entry of migrant workers potentially infected with the virus.
Travelers coming in from Malaysia through border checkpoints are subject to strict health screening.
Hospital staff and public health offices urged people to report migrants or Thai returnees who failed to take quarantine after entering Thailand. (TNA)
