BANGKOK, August 7 (TNA) – A coffee shop run by people with disabilities has been opened inside Government House in Bangkok as part of a programme to empower vulnerable social groups.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha opened the coffee shop “APCD 60+Plus Bakery & Chocolate Café” on Friday.
The coffee shop is operated by people with disabilities, offering food and beverages made of ingredients that are produced by vulnerable groups. Chocolate served at the coffee shop is a variety developed in Thailand and grown by handicapped farmers.
Prayut said the coffee shop was a business model for the vulnerable group empowerment programme that would promote social equality, create jobs and self-dependence.
The coffee shop also added architectural value to the compound, the prime minister said. (TNA)
