LAMPHUN, Feb 17 (TNA) – A farmer in Lamphun, Thailand, has found sweet success by growing organic roses and turning them into rose syrup.
During the month of love, when rose prices typically skyrocket, this farmer has found a way to sell his product year-round.
Kritsada “Tum” Munklang, a 40-year-old farmer, grows two types of roses: English roses and Damask roses. These roses are used to make a fragrant and delicious syrup that has become a popular product in Lamphun.

The process of making the syrup is simple but time-consuming. Tum harvests the roses within one day of blooming. The fresh petals are then steeped in warm water and mixed with sugar. The mixture is left to sit for three days, allowing the flavors to meld together.
The result is a sweet and floral syrup that can be used to make a variety of drinks. Tum sells his syrup online and at local markets. He also sells other rose-based products, such as rose petal jam, rose tea and rose petal-filled pastries.
Tum’s business has been so successful that he is now able to make a comfortable living off of his farm. He is also proud to be able to provide his customers with a healthy and delicious product. – 819 (TNA)
