CHON BURI, Sept 19 (TNA) – Pattaya police chief Pol Col Kulchart Kulchai was transferred to an inactive position after two incidents related to alleged prostitution in Pattaya City including the death of a Kyrgyz woman who was reportedly lured into prostitution.
Under an order from the Royal Thai Police Office, Pol Col Kulchart was transferred to an operation center of Chon Buri police.
The order followed an operation by human security and administration officials to rescue a Thai girl aged under 18 years from forced prostitution in the Tree Town market in Bang Lamung district on Sept 10-11.
Besides, on Sept 16, a Kyrgyz woman fell to death at a hotel in the same district. Later she was pronounced dead.
On Sept 13 the foreign woman filed a complaint with the Pattaya police station that a Chinese couple had offered her a job in Pattaya but actually she was lured into forced prostitution.
In relation to the death of a Kyrgyz woman, arrest warrants were issued for three Chinese nationals allegedly wanted for human trafficking and other related charges.
A Chinese woman has been detained by the police for questioning while two others are still at large. (TNA)
