BANGKOK, Feb 16 (TNA) – The total of COVID-19 cases linked to Chulalongkorn University rose to 22 as disease investigators found COVID-19 on a finger scanner of its security guards, according to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
Announcing the increased total, BMA spokesman Pongsakorn Kwanmuang said the COVID-19 cases included security guards, cleaners and people close to them and all the cases were admitted to hospitals for treatment.
The BMA conducted COVID-19 tests at Suan Luang market where personnel of Chulalongkorn University frequently visited and found that 437 tested people were free of the disease, he said.
The BMA also conducted COVID-19 tests on 20 frequently touched surfaces and found the disease on a finger scanner of security guards of the university. It already asked the university to sanitize the scanner as well as local shops and pavements, Mr Pongsakorn said. (TNA)
