BANGKOK, Jan 27 (TNA) – The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration reported 819 new COVID-19 cases and one more death who was a bed-ridden man.
CCSA spokesman Taweesip Visanuyothin said 808 new cases were of local infection. Ninety-two of them were found at hospitals and 716 others were confirmed through active case finding efforts in communities, mostly in Samut Sakhon province.
Eleven new cases are the people who recently arrived from other countries and were quarantined.
The new and 76th COVID-19 death case was a 56-year-old Thai man who had stroke and was bed-ridden. On Jan 22, he panted and had excessive phlegm.
He was admitted to a negative pressure room at Krathum Baen Hospital in Samut Sakhon. Doctors used a ventilator to help him and ordered a COVID-19 test. The infection result was known on Jan 23.
His conditions deteriorated on Jan 25 including excessive phlegm. He died later. (TNA)
