BANGKOK, Jan 4 (TNA) – The Royal Gazette published disease control measures for 28 provinces already declared as maximum COVID-19 control zones (red zones) as new COVID-19 cases on Sunday soared by 315 in 53 provinces over the past 24 hours.
The measures took effect at 6am on Jan 4.
They include the closure of any buildings that pose risks of disease transmission and the closure of all educational buildings in the 28 red zone provinces.
Any activities that are likely to transmit diseases are banned except for those permitted by officials.
Provincial governors are authorized to close any places in their provinces where the disease can be spread and to close or reopen any places that are not included in regulations.
Restaurants are required to limit the numbers of customers or sell only take-outs and suspend the sales and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Inter-provincial trips are not prohibited but people are asked to suspend them unless they are necessary.
Twenty-eight provinces consist of Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi, Chachoengsao, Chumphon, Chonburi, Trat, Tak, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Prathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Prachinburi, Ayutthaya, Phetchaburi, Ratchaburi, Ranong, Rayong, Lopburi, Singburi, Samut Prakan, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Suphanburi, Sa Kaeo and Ang Thong.
