BANGKOK, Dec 23 (TNA) — The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a smart map giving details of tourist attractions in several parts of Bangkok and users can access the data conveniently via mobile phones and tablet computers.
TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn said TAT and Beyond City Thailand Co developed the Smart Map Platform that presented data of about 1,000 tourism-related places in Phra Nakhon, Pomprap Sattruphai, Samphanthawong, Thon Buri, Klong San, Bang Phlat, Bangkok Noi, Bangkok Yai, Dusit, Pathumwan, Bang Rak, Sathon and Bang Kholaem districts.
The free-of-charge data covered tourist attractions, hotels, shops and restaurants along both sides of the Chao Phraya River, he said.
The Smart Map Platform allows government agencies and operators to update the data including disease control measures at specific places and users can post their comments on places gathered in the platform.
The Smart Map Platform can be accessed free of charge without any registration via the เพลินไทย.com website. It is compatible with iOS and Android operating systems.
The platform would be developed to present data in English and Chinese languages in the future, Mr Yuthasak said. (TNA)
