BANGKOK, Oct 17 (TNA) – The authorities has ordered mass transit operators to shutdown services Saturday afternoon after anti-government protesters selected to gather at three electric railway stations in Bangkok.
BTS SkyTrain, MRT subway and Airport Rail Link have halted the services.
The protest groups invited demonstrations through social media to join the rally at the location closest to them: Hayaek Lat Phrao, Udom Suk or Wong Wian Yai.
The demonstrations are now taking to street at the three locations in defiance of an emergency decree.
The Royal Thai Police Bureau said it is necessary to shut down the mass transit. Roads at the Victory Monument and the Asok-Phetchaburi intersection are also closed to traffic. (TNA)
