BANGKOK, July 17 (TNA) – Thai League football matches and concerts with spectators will be organized in Rayong to stimulate the economy of the eastern province.
Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), said government organizations would hold seminars in Rayong, government officials would be encouraged to visit the province, and Thai League football matches and concerts would be organized there.
Besides, foreign film crews would be invited to visit Rayong and accommodated in a “villa quarantine” manner.
“Money will be spent there and the local economy can be stimulated,” he said.
People were discouraged from visiting Rayong after an Egyptian military delegation that stopped over in the province dodged quarantine and one of them tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr Taweesin also said that CCSA’s sub-committee on lockdown easing resolved that visiting foreign diplomats would be quarantined for 14 days at state facilities instead of places designated by their embassies.
The resolution followed the report that an Estonian diplomat was blocked from observing self-quarantine at a luxury condominium in Sukhuvit area.
Dr Taweesin said that the diplomat was later brought to alternative state quarantine at Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 Hotel.
He confirmed that the diplomat tested negative for COVID before a flight to Thailand and after arrival at Suvarnabhumi airport.
He also said that people earlier risking contracting the disease from the Egyptian soldier and a Sudanese girl already tested negative for the disease. (TNA)
