BANGKOK, April 18 (TNA) – The Thai embassy and three Thai consulates-general in the United States arranged for the return of about 400 Thai people to Thailand on April 17-19.
The Thai embassy in Washington DC stated on its Facebook page that the embassy and Thai consulates-general in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago facilitated the trips of about 400 Thai students and people stranded in the US to return to Thailand on April 17-19.
On April 17 Thai ambassador to Washington DC Thani Thongpakdee, an honorary Thai consul-general in Dallas and representatives of Thai communities in Texas handed bags of face masks, gloves, tissue paper, alcohol pads and snacks to about 160 Thai returnees, most of whom are exchange students, before their departure from Dallas aboard a plane arranged by the Royal Thai Army.
The Thai embassy in Washington DC, the three Thai consulates-general and local Thai communities are taking good care of Thai people stranded in the US and informed Thai people in the US of measures to control the coronavirus disease 2019.
